This week has been so crazy, working on jewelry in the studio, running around collecting supplies, and going out to work on our new house, all WONDERFUL things! I’m so delirious with joy about our house and being able to walk into my studio for my 9 – 5 every day. I cannot WAIT to do this in the studio we’re building at the house. However awesome I feel about the serious progress we’re making in our lives, I feel just a tad exhausted, and I’m looking forward to a good read and tea on the couch this weekend, but before I signed off for the day, I wanted to share this amazing project that I got to work on recently.
Originally, this ring was offered in sterling silver. One of my friends/customers got in touch with me and asked if I’d be able to make it in gold filled. Of course, I said sure, because I’m always ready for a new project, a new challenge, an adventure. I love making new designs. The only catch was that the materials I normally used on the buried rings wasn’t offered in 14k gold filled, so I let her know that I’d have to innovate my methods and the design might be slightly different. She was happy with that condition and was looking forward to the results. You can see some of my progress below, though I missed the crucial step I took in creating the tube you see being used in the process. I’ll get some pictures of that next time I work on this one.
This one is now available in the The Chestnut Forge shop!
